BIP / USDA APHIS compatible data access for research institutions
ApiaryBase member organizations can voluntarily share anonymized colony health data with approved research partners. Everything is summed per ZIP code — that is the finest detail that exists in any output — and any statistic drawn from fewer than five beekeepers is withheld automatically, regardless of consent level. No individual beekeeper, apiary, or hive is ever identifiable, and coordinates never leave the owner's own account.
Consent-scoped
Data comes only from members who have individually opted in. Consent belongs to the beekeeper — no admin can grant it on their behalf — and even full consent never lowers the ZIP-level, five-beekeeper minimum.
BIP Compatible
Output formats align with Bee Informed Partnership and USDA APHIS colony survey standards.
JWT Auth
Secure time-limited tokens issued against research partner API keys. No personal data in outputs.
Research Partner Access
Research partners authenticate with a pre-issued API key to receive a short-lived JWT bearer token for data access. To apply for research partner access, contact research@apiarybase.com with your institution and intended use.
